Reviews for Restaurante Don Merito - YAMAGUCHI
Review highlights
Based on 784 reviewsRestaurante Don Merito - YAMAGUCHI is widely praised for its high-quality, fresh Spanish cuisine, with particular acclaim for traditional Galician dishes and a varied tapa selection. Customers appreciate the genuine flavors, notable freshness of ingredients, and generous portions. The service is frequently described as attentive and professional, contributing to a refined dining experience. While the location is charming yet somewhat secluded, it may require navigation aids to find. A common point of feedback is the uncommunicated charge for bread, which some patrons find unexpected despite the bread's substantial size. Overall, the restaurant is regarded as a must-visit for authentic Spanish fare paired with excellent service in a pleasant rural setting.
Great galician restaurant and tapa bar. High quality. Try the roxo, calamary (grilled), piparras and white whine. Enjoy!
My family and I went to have dinner there. Downstairs, to the dining room. The service was perfect since the first moment. It could be argued it was a high class service. We ordered croquetas de pulpo, gambones, boquerones and patatas bravas. Croquetas de pulpo were highly recommended. Patatas bravas were quite good and it was a considerable quantity. Boquerones were delicious too. Gambones was the weak dish this time because it was hard to separate the shell from the prawn itself, it may be cooked a bit longer. The price was okay, you pay for what you eat. I would not go for a casual dinner but for something special. The dinner in general was great and I highly recommend the place for eating fish and shellfish in Pamplona!!
Food was great, some of the best I had the pleasure to experience in Spain. The place is tricky to get to without Google Maps. Location is beautiful, mostly rural. I would definitely revisit.
Food was really good and everything was fresh. The waiting staff was amazing and the timing of the food was perfect.
They are using fresh ingredients you can see it from the quality of the food. Pulpu is very delicious. Only negative thing they serve bread to all without mentioning it is 1.5 euro. And bread is quite big, so if we were informed before we could take less bread
We enjoyed an excellent €20 Menú del Día here (en route to Yamaguchi Park). Very friendly and helpful staff, who were happy to adapt parts of the menu to suit my vegetarian partner. The menu includes a half bottle of wine (each) - the red was a very drinkable Navarra and bread, plus the usual three courses. Every course was beautifully presented, and if our “Grandmother’s Pudding” was typical the desserts, in particular, are much better than you’d expect in a mid-priced Menú. We sat outside, under very effective umbrellas, but indoors also seemed comfortably cool on a very hot day.
